Intestinal Flora
Intestinal flora, also known as the gut microbiota, is a collection of microorganisms that live in the intestines. These microorganisms are essential for a number of metabolic processes, such as synthesizing vitamins, breaking down nutrients for absorption, and protecting the body from disease-causing bacteria. Intestinal flora also affects numerous aspects of health, including digestion, immunity, microbiome balance, and overall wellbeing. Proper balance of the gut microbiota is essential for optimal health, and it can be impacted by diet, medications, and other lifestyle factors. By optimizing one's diet and environment, a person can promote the growth of beneficial gut bacteria and improve their overall health.
