Abdominal Ultrasound

An abdominal ultrasound is a type of imaging test used to detect and diagnose any abnormalities or diseases of the abdomen. It involves the use of high-frequency sound waves which are then converted into detailed images of the abdominal organs, such as the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, kidneys, and spleen. An abdominal ultrasound can help diagnose conditions including gallstones, kidney stones, pancreatitis, and abdominal aneurysms. It is also essential in assessing pregnancy, as it can help determine the baby’s size, movement, position, and in some cases, detect abnormalities. Abdominal ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive procedure with few risks, making it an important diagnostic tool.
