Genetic Epidemiology
Genetic epidemiology is a field of study that looks at the association between genetic factors (often single nucleotide polymorphisms or SNPs) and health outcomes in a population. It is used to identify genetic sources of risk or protection, and to understand the contribution of environmental and behavioral factors. This information can be used to inform prevention and treatment strategies for diseases, as well as to improve population health. It can also be used to inform public health policy, including healthcare decisions and funding allocation.
