Glycoconjugate

Vaccines Glycoconjugate vaccines are a type of vaccine used to prevent bacterial infections. They work by combining a carbohydrate component derived from the bacterial surface with a protein, forming an immunogenic molecule that stimulates the body's immune response. Glycoconjugate vaccines have been used since the 1980s and have greatly improved disease prevention in both children and adults. They have been particularly successful in preventing diseases such as meningococcal meningitis, Streptococcus pneumoniae infection and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib). Glycoconjugate vaccines represent a major advancement in immunization practices and stand out as an effective and safe method of disease prevention.
