Fructoses

Fructoses are simple sugars found in fruits, honey and other plant parts. They are chemically related to glucose, but are much sweeter in taste. Fructoses are essential components of our diet as they provide energy and help in the absorption of vitamins and minerals. Fructoses are also used to sweeten a variety of products such as soft drinks, fruit juices and desserts, as well as being used to add flavor and texture to breads, cakes and pastries. Fructoses are beneficial in providing energy without causing significant fluctuations in blood sugar levels, making them an ideal choice for people with diabetes. They can also help to reduce cholesterol levels and improve dental health, as they are not broken down by bacteria in the mouth, thus reducing the risk of tooth decay.

Glycomics is particularly important in microbiology because glycans play diverse roles in bacterial physiology. Metabolomics combines strategies to identify and quantify cellular metabolites using sophisticated analytical technologies with the application of statistical and multi-variant methods for information extraction and data interpretation.
