Transposon Mutagenesis

Transposon mutagenesis is a genetic technique that inserts pieces of DNA (transposons) into an organism’s genome. Through this method, researchers are able to identify genes that are necessary for an organism’s development and health. Transposon mutagenesis is a key tool for understanding the function of genes and gene networks, as well as for identifying genes associated with disease, development, and behavior in a variety of organisms. This technique has the potential to provide important insights into the causes and treatment of genetic disorders.
