Optogenetics

Optogenetics is a technology that uses light-sensitive proteins to control how cells behave and interact with each other. It is a powerful tool for studying neurons and other cells in the body, and for uncovering the underlying mechanisms of many diseases. Optogenetics can also be used to manipulate neural circuits in living organisms for a variety of applications, including neuroscience research, pharmacology, and gene therapy. It is an important frontier in modern biomedical research and has great potential to improve the treatment and management of many diseases.
