Genetics and Genomics

Genetics and genomics are the study of inheritance, the way genes are passed on from one generation to the next. Genetics and genomics seek to understand how inherited genes can lead to differences in health, behavior, and physical characteristics. Using genomics, scientists can identify and control genetic traits, improve crop yields, and even identify new treatments for diseases. Genomics research is also being used to develop personalized treatments tailored to an individual’s unique genetic makeup. As this technology advances, genomics will become increasingly important in improving human health and well-being.
