Genetic Risk Score
A Genetic Risk Score (GRS) is a numerical value that reflects a person’s genetic predisposition for a particular health condition. It is calculated using an individual’s genetic data to identify variants that are known to increase the risk for a specific disorder or disease. GRS can identify genetic variants associated with a variety of health conditions, such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. It can also be used to identify individuals at increased risk for genetic disorders, allowing for earlier diagnosis and more targeted preventative treatments. As such, GRS is a powerful predictive tool in modern medicine and has the potential to revolutionize the way diseases are managed and treated.
