Classical and Developmental Genetics
Classical and developmental genetics are scientific fields that study how characteristics of living organisms are passed on from parents to offspring and how these characteristics change over time and during development. Through the study of classical genetics, scientists can learn about how genetic diseases are inherited and how genetic mutations occur. Developmental genetics, on the other hand, focuses on understanding how the expression of genes changes as organisms grow and develop. By studying both classical and developmental genetics, biologists can gain insight into how genetic information is passed down, how it mutates over time, and how the environment affects the expression of genes. This knowledge is incredibly important for developing effective treatments for genetic diseases and for improving the sustainability of agricultural practices.
