Alternaria

Alternaria is a genus of fungi that produces spores. It is a major cause of disease in plants, animals, and humans. These fungi cause allergies and asthma, as well as plant diseases. Alternaria can be found in many environments, such as plants, soil, air, water, textiles, and food. It is also a major cause of indoor air-borne allergies. The spores of Alternaria can be spread by wind, water, or animals, and the fungi can persist in the environment for long periods of time. Control measures for Alternaria include timely removal of infected plants, use of fungicides, and maintaining an adequate amount of moisture in the soil. In addition, Alternaria can be used in biological control of plant diseases.
