Starches

Starches are complex carbohydrates found in many different plants, such as grains and tubers. They are an important source of energy for the human body and can be used as an alternative source of fuel for the production of energy. Starches are also used in food production, as an ingredient in many processed foods, in baking, to thicken sauces and gravies, and to make gluten-free products. Starches are also used in the manufacture of fabrics, adhesives, and other products. In addition, starches can be used in industrial applications such as the production of paper, cardboard and even medicines.
