Salmonella Typhi

Salmonella Typhi is a type of bacteria that causes Typhoid fever, a serious and sometimes fatal infection. Salmonella Typhi is found in contaminated food and water, and is spread by direct contact with an infected person or by eating contaminated food. It is one of the leading causes of foodborne illness globally, particularly in developing countries. Vaccination is the most effective way to protect oneself from Salmonella Typhi, and proper hygiene, thorough cooking and safe food handling can help prevent its spread.
