tapeworm The pork tapeworm is a species of tapeworm belonging to the genus Taenia. It is an intestinal parasite in humans and pigs, found in areas where hygiene and sanitation are poor. Symptoms of pork tapeworm infection include abdominal pain, loss of appetite, nausea, headache, weakness, and sometimes anemia. Treatment involves the use of antibiotics and antiparasitic drugs. The pork tapeworm is a serious health issue in many parts of the world and can lead to long-term health problems if left untreated. Prevention is key in avoiding infection and includes regularly cooking pork to recommended internal temperatures, washing hands after handling raw meat, and avoiding raw vegetables or fruits that may be contaminated with feces.
