Plums
Plums are a stone fruit, classified as a drupe, that belong to the genus Prunus. Plums are typically round and have a deep blue or purple skin, which can range from tart to sweet when eaten. The flesh of the fruit is yellow or pink, and can have a soft or crunchy texture. Plums are a great source of dietary fiber, vitamin C, and potassium. Their antioxidants may help reduce inflammation and protect against certain chronic diseases. They can be eaten fresh or cooked and are used to make jams, jellies, juices, and compotes. Plums are also used in baking to make pies and other desserts.
