Natural Toxins in Food

Natural toxins are compounds found in many different types of food that can be potentially harmful to humans if consumed in large amounts. While the levels of potential harm vary between different types of toxins, some can lead to a range of symptoms from mild to severe, including vomiting, diarrhoea, headaches and difficulty breathing. To reduce the risk, it is important to follow food safety guidelines, such as proper storage, preparation and cooking. Furthermore, people should be aware of the potential for natural toxins to be present in certain foods and should also be aware of the different kinds of toxicity levels associated with certain types of food. Natural toxins can help to protect plants from predators, can be used in medications and can also be used in food and beverages as natural preservatives.
