Ham

ster Hamsters are small, nocturnal rodents that belong to the subfamily Cricetinae. They are native to Europe, North Africa, and Asia. They are widely kept as pets due to their small size, docile nature, and relatively low maintenance. They are also used as model organisms in medical research, because they share many characteristics with humans, such as a short life-span and a sensitivity to drugs and treatments. Hamsters can provide insight into the causes and treatments of certain illnesses, including diabetes, obesity, and cancer. They can also help us learn more about the development and behavior of mammals in general.
