Foodborne Trematodiases

Foodborne trematodiases are a group of parasitic diseases which are transmitted to humans through the consumption of raw or undercooked food that contains larvae of certain species of trematode parasites. They can cause a variety of symptoms ranging from mild gastrointestinal distress to severe organ damage. Treatment includes medication to kill the parasites, as well as good hygiene practices to reduce the risk of infection. They are an important public health problem in many parts of the world, and proper education and food safety measures are essential for preventing their spread.
