Cucumber

Cucumber is a widely cultivated plant of the Cucurbitaceae family. It is grown and consumed widely as a vegetable due its high nutrient content, including vitamin K and potassium. Additionally, its high water content (95%) makes it ideal for rehydrating and its cooling properties are often used to reduce inflammation and soothe skin. In the culinary world, cucumbers are used in salads, sandwiches and smoothies, while they can also be pickled and canned. In the beauty industry, cucumbers are used in a variety of cosmetics and facial treatments. As such, cucumber is a highly versatile and nutritious vegetable that can be consumed in a variety of ways.
