Cherries
Cherries are small, stone fruits native to Europe and Asia. They are related to other stone fruits such as peaches and plums, and are popularly eaten as a snack or used in a variety of culinary dishes. Cherries are also a popular ingredient in jams, jellies, and syrups. Nutritionally, cherries are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and fiber. Studies have shown that cherries have potential health benefits such as promoting better digestion, aiding in weight loss, reducing inflammation and pain, and improving cognitive functioning. Additionally, cherries can add flavor and nutrition to smoothies, pies, salads, and other desserts.
