Carotenoids
Carotenoids are a group of naturally occurring pigments found in many fruits, vegetables, and algae. They are essential to photosynthesis, the process that allows plants to convert energy from the sun into usable energy. Carotenoids provide plants with their vibrant colours and are especially abundant in orange, yellow, and red fruits and vegetables, such as carrots, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, and peppers. They are also important for human health as they act as antioxidants, protecting our cells from damage caused by oxidation and free radicals. Additionally, carotenoids have been shown to have anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties. As such, they are a key part of a healthy diet and are important for overall well-being.
