Transcription Factors
Transcription factors are proteins found in cells that control how genes are expressed. They bind to specific regions of DNA and promote or inhibit the transcription of certain genes into RNA. Transcription factors play a critical role in diversifying cellular function, allowing a cell to develop distinct characteristics and react to different environmental stimuli. They are also involved in regulating gene expression during the development and progression of diseases such as cancer and diabetes. Transcription factors are vital for understanding normal cellular function and the development of successful therapeutic treatments.
