Obstetric Anesthesia

Obstetric Anesthesia is an area of anesthesia care focused on pain relief and comfort of expectant mothers during childbirth. It helps minimize or prevent the pain and anxiety associated with labor and delivery and can facilitate a safe, successful birth experience. Obstetric Anesthesia improves the ability of obstetric care providers to access the baby or provide interventions in an emergency situation. It also enables the mother to be awake and alert during the birth, allowing her to take part to the full extent in making decisions about how she wishes the birth to proceed. Obstetric Anesthesia is a safe and effective way for expectant mothers to have a less stressful and more successful childbirth.
