Nervous System Malformations
Nervous system malformations are birth defects that affect the brain, spine, and/or the peripheral nerves. These malformations can be caused by genetic or environmental factors, such as exposure to certain substances during pregnancy. Symptoms can range in severity, from mild developmental delays to physical disabilities, and even death in extreme cases. Treatment varies depending on the complexity and severity of the malformation. Early diagnosis and intervention are essential for managing these conditions and helping the patient have the best possible outcome. With proper care, many individuals with nervous system malformations can lead fulfilling and successful lives.
