adherence Medication adherence is the act of taking medications as prescribed by a doctor or other healthcare professional. It is an important factor for successful health outcomes and is of utmost importance in the management of chronic conditions. Adherence to medications is also strongly linked to patient satisfaction and improved quality of life. It is also associated with reductions in hospital admissions, increased patient safety, and cost savings. Strategies to improve adherence include patient education, support systems, and technological interventions such as smartphone apps.
