Hysterotomy
Hysterotomy is a surgical procedure in which an incision is made in the uterus through an abdominal wall. It is a major abdominal surgery, typically used in the case of complicated pregnancies or to terminate pregnancies that pose a risk to the mother or fetus. It is an important procedure used to allow fetal extractions in the event of an ectopic or molar pregnancy or to terminate a pregnancy due to medical or social reasons. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and carries a risk of complications, including infection and hemorrhage. Hysterotomy is a life-saving procedure that has saved many lives.
