Menopause

Menopause is the natural and permanent cessation of a woman’s menstrual cycle, typically occurring between the ages of 45 and 55. Menopause is a significant milestone in the life of a woman and is accompanied by a number of changes to her body and life. Although menopause is a natural physiological process, the accompanying symptoms (such as hot flashes, night sweats, and mood swings) can be disruptive and lead to a decreased quality of life. For this reason, many women seek treatment to help manage symptoms, such as hormone replacement therapy (HRT). In addition, lifestyle changes such as regular exercise and stress reduction may help to improve menopausal symptoms. Menopause is a common milestone in the lives of many women and understanding its causes, effects, and treatments can help women better manage the associated changes.
