Hormones

Hormones are molecules released by endocrine cells in the body of animals and humans which have a powerful effect on the function of other nearby cells. Hormones act as chemical messengers, allowing cells to communicate and coordinate their activities. They play a crucial role in regulating physical and psychological processes such as growth, metabolism, sex drive, and behaviour. Furthermore, they are involved in the body's response to stress and other external stimuli. An imbalance or improper functioning of hormones can lead to health issues like obesity, infertility, depression and other hormonal disorders. In order to maintain homeostasis, healthy eating and exercise habits are recommended. Hormone therapy is also a common treatment for these issues.
