Contraception

Contraception, also known as birth control, is any method used to prevent pregnancy. It is an important part of reproductive health care and allows people to plan and space out pregnancies, in addition to preventing unwanted pregnancies. Contraception methods include physical barrier methods such as condoms and diaphragms, hormonal methods such as the pill and the IUD, and sterilization methods such as a vasectomy. Contraception is very important in the prevention of unintended pregnancies, reducing the number of abortions, and allowing individuals and couples to decide when and if to have children.
