Vegetation

Index A vegetation index (VI) is a numerical value that quantifies the presence and structure of vegetation on the Earth’s surface. VIs are based on remotely sensed data from satellites, planes, or drones and are used to assess the health of vegetation, monitor global climate change, track vegetation dynamics, and assess land cover changes. VIs are also used in agriculture to monitor crop health, evaluate drought conditions, detect weeds, and diagnose plant stress from pests and diseases.
