Fallowing
Fallow farming is a form of agricultural cultivation involving the temporary lying of agricultural land uncultivated. The purpose of fallowing is to allow the land to restore and replenish its fertility. This agrarian practice helps to prevent land degradation, promote sustainable agriculture, and increase crop yields. Fallowing can also be used as a strategy to reduce the risk of pests, diseases and weed infestations, reduce the financial cost of fertilizers, herbicides and insecticides, reduce the risk of soil erosion, and increase the sustainability of farming operations. Fallowing has a positive environmental impact, as it helps promote conservation farming and reduces the need for crop inputs.
