Renal Toxicity
Renal toxicity is a form of adverse effect that occurs when the kidneys are damaged or otherwise affected by a drug or other substance. It is a potential side effect of many commonly prescribed drugs, as well as some herbal remedies and recreational drugs. Renal toxicity can have serious health consequences, including kidney failure, hypertension, electrolyte imbalances, and even death. Therefore, it is important for patients to discuss the potential for renal toxicity with a healthcare provider before taking any medication. With the right treatment and management, renal toxicity can often be avoided or minimized.
