Cytotoxins

Cytotoxins are molecules which damage cells and cause cell death. They are used to treat cancer and are often part of combination therapies with other treatments such as radiation and chemotherapy. Cytotoxins act by targeting proteins and/or enzymes in cancer cells and disrupting their normal functioning. Cytotoxins are also used to study the growth and spread of cancer cells and to help in the development of new cancer therapies. Additionally, cytotoxins are used in research to study cell death pathways and cell differentiation, as well as for vaccine development. As a result, cytotoxins are vitally important to both medical treatments and scientific research.
