Thrombosis

Thrombosis, also known as a blood clot, occurs when a blood vessel becomes blocked by the formation of a clot. It is a life-threatening medical condition that can lead to heart attack, stroke, and pulmonary embolism. Thrombosis can be caused by a number of factors such as smoking, high cholesterol, and inactivity; however, it can also occur as a result of a medical condition or an inherited disorder. Treatment of thrombosis depends on the cause, and can include medications, such as anticoagulants, as well as lifestyle changes and surgery. Early diagnosis and treatment is key to avoiding serious complications.
