Multipotent Stem Cells
Multipotent stem cells are special cells in the body which have the ability to differentiate into a range of different types of cells. They are a type of stem cell which is found in adult tissues and organs and can be used to replace damaged or diseased cells in a process known as “cell therapy”. Their multipotency makes them a valuable tool in regenerative medicine, allowing them to be used to repair or replace damaged tissue and organs. They can also be used to study human development and disease, as they provide an unlimited source of cells to study. Finally, multipotent stem cells have the potential to be used to create suitable organs for organ transplantation, offering a potential solution to the shortage of organs available.
