Amniotic Fluid
Amniotic fluid is the fluid which surrounds and cushions a foetus during pregnancy. It is essential for the normal development and growth of the baby, providing it with nutrients and proteins, protecting the baby from impact and infection, and aiding in the development of organs and muscles. Amniotic fluid is also vital for the mother and the baby’s well-being and health, regulating temperature and acting as a natural lubricant during childbirth. Ultrasound images of the amniotic fluid can help diagnose any potential problems with the foetus, as well as monitor the health of the baby during pregnancy.
