Amniotic

fluid Amniotic fluid is a nutrient-rich liquid that surrounds and cushions a developing fetus in the womb during pregnancy. It is essential for the growth and development of the fetus and plays a critical role in maintaining the pregnancy, protecting the fetus from the effects of shock and infection and regulating temperature. Amniotic fluid is composed of electrolytes, proteins, hormones and other metabolites and helps to form the amniotic sac which encloses and cushions the fetus. It is an essential component of a healthy pregnancy and its loss can lead to miscarriage, a premature birth or other negative impacts on the fetus.
