Urban Ecology
Urban Ecology is the study of interactions between people, other organisms, and the environment in urban areas. It is a multidisciplinary field which examines links between urbanization and ecological systems, and can be used to create sustainable and resilient cities. Urban Ecology is important for understanding the effects of urbanization on climate, biodiversity, and air and water quality, and for developing strategies for urban planning that are more sustainable and nature-friendly. City planners and governments are increasingly using Urban Ecology to shape cities into more livable and equitable places, while also reducing the urban footprint. Urban Ecology also provides numerous benefits, such as improving public health, creating green spaces, and connecting communities.
