Stone Age
The Stone Age was a period of prehistory characterized by the use and development of stone tools and weapons. It is the longest period of human prehistory, lasting from about 2.6 million years ago to around 12,000 years ago. During this time, humans developed tools and techniques for hunting and gathering, domesticating animals, and eventually settled into permanent settlements. Stone tools were used for a variety of tasks, from cutting meat and making tools for building shelters, to grinding grain for food. The growth of technology during the Stone Age was integral to the formation of human culture and laid the foundation for many of our society’s practices and values.
