Species Extinction

Species extinction occurs when a species is no longer present in the wild or any captive environment. It is a natural process that is essential to the ongoing evolution of life on Earth, allowing new species to emerge and build upon the successes of their predecessors. However, human activities are causing species extinctions to happen at an alarming rate, far beyond what would be seen in a natural system. This has serious implications for the balance of nature, as many species form integral parts of complex ecosystems that help to regulate the environment and sustain life for humans, other organisms, and future generations. Species extinction is consequently a topic of great significance that requires urgent attention and action.
