Quaternary Period

The Quaternary Period is the most recent interval in the Earth's history and spans from approximately 2 million years ago to the present day. It is characterized by the appearance and diversification of modern plants and animals, and is marked by the end of the last ice age. During this period, several major environmental changes occurred, including the use of fire by humans, the spread of agriculture and the development of industry. These changes had significant implications for the planet's climate, ecosystems and species composition, and ultimately, human society. The Quaternary Period has been invaluable in terms of providing insight into the evolution of our planet, climate and life forms, and continues to shape the world we live in today.
