Philantomba are important to their ecosystems as they help to control insect populations and serve as prey for larger predators. They are also hunted by humans for their fur and meat which is considered a delicacy. Additionally, they are kept as exotic pets. Philantomba have a unique and fascinating behavior which has been studied by researchers and conservationists to help protect them from extinction and ensure their population remains healthy.
