Peritoneal Lavage

Peritoneal lavage, also known as abdominal lavage, is a medical procedure where a surgeon washes the abdominal cavity with a sterile saline solution. The procedure can be used to remove fluid, tissue, toxins, and other substances from the abdominal cavity, and is usually done to diagnose or treat abdominal infections and inflammation. It can also be used to diagnose and treat complications from abdominal surgery, as well as to remove abdominal abscesses. Peritoneal lavage is a minimally-invasive and cost-effective procedure, making it a very useful diagnostic and therapeutic tool.
