New World Monkeys
New World Monkeys are a group of primates found mainly in Central and South America. These monkeys, also known as platyrrhines, are known for their distinct physical and behavioral characteristics, such as a prehensile tail, nostrils that point downwards, and the ability to vocalize and make facial expressions. They are an important part of the ecosystem and provide many benefits, such as aiding in seed dispersion, controlling insect populations, and providing recreational and educational opportunities for humans. New World Monkeys may also play a role in human health research, as some species are thought to be genetically similar to humans.
