Jurassic Period

The Jurassic Period was a geological time period that occurred from around 201 to 145 million years ago. It is one of three major divisions in the Mesozoic Era, commonly referred to as the "Age of the Dinosaurs." The Jurassic Period saw the development of many dinosaurs, the evolution of reptilian lineages, the diversification of flowering plants, and the evolution of birds. It is also the time period in which the first true mammals evolved. This period has significant scientific importance as it provides insight into the diversification of plants and animals in the past, and helps to shed light on the current biodiversity of our planet. It has been used to understand the evolution of modern-day ecosystems and as a tool to study the effects of climate change. Fossils from the Jurassic Period have also been used to study earth's paleoenvironments and to investigate ancient life forms.
