Green Revolution
The Green Revolution refers to a series of agricultural strategies developed in the mid-20th century in response to rapid global population growth and severe food shortages. It involved the introduction of new farming practices, as well as more productive crop varieties, better irrigation systems, and chemical fertilizers and pesticides. These strategies allowed farmers to significantly increase crop yields, leading to improved food security and increased economic opportunities in many countries. Today, the Green Revolution continues to be used in food production and poverty alleviation efforts around the world.
