Evolutionary Psychology
Evolutionary psychology is an interdisciplinary field that combines psychological analysis with evolutionary theory. It focuses on the ways in which biological, social, and cultural factors influence human behaviour. Evolutionary psychology uses the principles of natural selection and survival of the fittest to explain observed patterns in human behaviour. It examines the ways in which environmental forces can shape the formation of traits and behaviours, and how these traits can be passed down through generations. By using this approach, evolutionary psychology seeks to explain why humans evolved certain traits, such as the ability to empathize and altruism, while others, such as aggression, persist today. It has been used to inform research and clinical practice in areas such as mental health, development, animal behaviour, and social behaviour.
