Carboniferous Period

The Carboniferous Period was an important geological period that lasted from 360 to 300 million years ago. During this period, the Earth was dominated by lush forests and giant insects, which shaped the coal beds mined today. It is considered a significant period in Earth's history, as it marks the lifestyle of the first land animals, plants that evolved woody stem and root systems, and the formation of coal deposits. This period was also instrumental in transforming the Earth's climate by releasing large amounts of oxygen into the atmosphere. The Carboniferous Period is still being studied today and is a key component in geology and biology. It also has implications for climate science, as its oxygen surge is a significant factor in the Earth's current atmosphere.
