Molecular Diagnostics
Molecular diagnostics is a technique used to detect the presence of a disease-causing agent, such as viruses, bacteria, or parasites, in a sample. Through the use of DNA or RNA-based tests, molecular diagnostics is able to identify particular organisms and distinguish them from similar organisms. This technology has revolutionized the field of healthcare, as it is capable of providing an accurate, rapid, and cost-effective means of diagnosing a broad range of infectious agents. This can enable quicker, more accurate treatment and improve the prognosis of patients. Beyond its medical applications, molecular diagnostics is also used in forensic science, food safety, and plant and animal health testing.
