Infectious Disease Diagnosis
Infectious disease diagnosis is a process of identifying an infectious agent by analyzing a person’s medical history, physical examination findings, laboratory testing, and other medical tests. It helps to determine the cause of an illness or disease and effectively develop a plan of treatment. Infectious disease diagnosis is essential in preventing the spread of contagious diseases among the general population, specifically in large-scale epidemics. Commonly used methods include blood tests, throat swabs, imaging tests, and other diagnostic tests. The use of modern technology such as molecular diagnostic tests is becoming increasingly popular in the diagnosis of different infectious diseases.
